An Agenda for Diversity - The National and Local Story

Presentation PDF

Kurt Metzger, Director of Research for the United Way of Southeastern Michigan, served as the opening speaker at the April 12, 2006 Leveraging Diversity For Business Success: Management, Methods & Measures conference.   The fourth annual conference was co-sponsored by the Detroit Regional Chamber, National Conference for Community & Justice (NCCJ) and the Oakland County Employment Diversity Council.

Kurt's presentation addressed current and projected changes in the racial, ethnic and related demographic characteristics of the local and national population and workforce.  A substantial portion of the talk dealt with trends in immigration - both locally and nationally - and on the discussions taking place around the issue of immigration.
